will bring together community-based organizations (CBOs) that support low-income households, seniors, and other equity-deserving residents. This full-day gathering is designed to deepen collaboration, strengthen emergency preparedness, and equip CBOs with practical approaches to climate resilience.
Grounded in findings from a series of three workshops hosted by the Bay Area Climate Change Council in 2025—with participation from diverse equity-deserving residents from across Hamilton and Burlington—this workshop will translate lived experience, community insight, and research into actionable strategies.
Participants will:
Examine how communities respond during extreme weather events, including how networks of support can be mobilized quickly and effectively.
Explore ways to integrate climate risk management into organizational planning and operations, ensuring continuity of service for the residents who rely on them most.
Collaboratively brainstorm how CBOs can best support residents in preparing for weather-related emergencies, with a focus on equity, accessibility, and community-driven solutions.
