HEDR Announces New Coordinator

We are pleased to announce that Daven Seebarran is Halton Equity and Diversity Roundtable’s new Coordinator. Daven brings over 20 years of experience as a senior executive, including as an Executive Director, consultant, corporate trainer, and leadership coach. Daven also has several years of experience as the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Advisor for the City of Mississauga.

Daven has a strong understanding of systemic barriers, their impacts and consequences, and the importance of developing and implementing frameworks aimed at removing barriers. His significant experience in change management, community engagement, and strategic planning will support HEDR in moving our mission forward.

We look forward to having Daven join the organization and continuing to support the Halton Community in taking action to combat discrimination and injustice and raising awareness of the need for action toward Truth and Reconciliation, against anti-Black racism, against Islamophobia and injustices faced by religious minorities, toward 2SLGBTQIA+ rights, toward rights for those living with disabilities, and against the systemic oppression of marginalized individuals.

When Daven is not working, you can find him trying new foods or exploring the world’s cultures. He is also passionate about community arts and is the founder of the Drag Academy, a social purpose enterprise supporting 2SLGBTQ+ artists in Canada. Join us in welcoming Daven to the HEDR team.
