CODE OF CONDUCT
HEDR is committed to fostering an inclusive and respectful environment where all members can collaborate, learn, and contribute to advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion within the Halton community. This Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for behaviour and engagement of all members.
1. Respect and Inclusivity

Treat all members respectfully, regardless of their background, identity, or opinions.

3. Confidentiality

Respect the privacy and confidentiality of sensitive discussions and information shared within the roundtable.

Seek permission before sharing any confidential information outside of HEDR.
4. Participation and Collaboration

Actively participate in HEDR events, workshops, committees, and initiatives to the best of your ability.

5. Accountability

Take responsibility for your words and actions within the HEDR community.

If you make a mistake, acknowledge it and work to rectify the situation.

Be open to receiving constructive feedback and use it to grow and improve.
6. Compliance with Policies and Laws

Adhere to all relevant policies, guidelines, and laws while participating in HEDR activities.

Avoid engaging in any activities that could harm the reputation of HEDR or its members.
7. Harassment-Free Environment

Do not engage in any form of harassment, including but not limited to verbal, physical, or online harassment.

Report any incidents of harassment to the appropriate HEDR representative promptly.
8. Use of Technology and Communication Channels

Use HEDR's communication channels and technology platforms responsibly and for their intended purposes.

Refrain from using these platforms for personal gain or to spread inappropriate content.
9. Representation and Authenticity

Represent yourself and your organization accurately and honestly in all interactions related to HEDR.

Do not impersonate others or misrepresent affiliations.
10. Continuous Learning

Stay informed about equity, diversity, and inclusion topics to contribute meaningfully to discussions and initiatives.

Be open to learning from others and expanding your understanding of different perspectives.
Consequences of Violation
Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in corrective actions, which could include a verbal warning, temporary suspension of membership privileges, or, in severe cases, permanent expulsion from HEDR. Decisions will be made based on the severity of the violation and its impact on the community.
By participating in HEDR, you agree to uphold this Code of Conduct and actively contribute to a positive and inclusive environment that promotes equity, diversity, and inclusion.
