Job Title: Membership and Engagement Coordinator

Hours: Part-time, 20 hours per week
Location: Remote / Work from Home
Rate per Hour: $22/ hr - $25/ hr

 

Position Overview:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Membership and Engagement Coordinator is responsible for managing and growing HEDR’s membership program and for planning and coordinating engaging events and learning opportunities for our members. This role is ideal for a highly organized professional who can manage multiple priorities, oversee membership communications, and support HEDR’s commitment to equity and inclusion.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute 4 Membership Meetings, 3 Community of Practice sessions, and Anti-Oppression Training programs.

  • Oversee the HEDR Membership Program, including new member sign-ups, renewals, and maintaining accurate records.

  • Develop and manage membership communications, including email campaigns and announcements.

  • Manage the membership program budget, ensuring programs and events operate within financial guidelines.

  • Coordinate membership recognition initiatives, including the Pride in Equity Award, to celebrate outstanding contributions to equity and inclusion.

  • Support organizational goals by identifying opportunities to enhance member engagement and satisfaction.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience managing multiple events and priorities simultaneously.

  • Knowledge of membership models, engagement strategies, and retention best practices.

  • Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills, with attention to detail.

  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.

  • Demonstrated understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-oppression principles.

  • Proficiency in standard office and communication tools (e.g., email platforms, spreadsheets, virtual meeting platforms).

The Thought Leader Coordinator plays a key role in advancing HEDR’s thought leadership initiatives by overseeing signature events, developing innovative programs, and ensuring high-quality evaluation and impact measurement. This role is ideal for a strategic, organized professional who can manage multiple priorities, lead program development, and support HEDR’s mission to foster equity, inclusion, and meaningful learning experiences.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee planning, execution, and evaluation of HEDR’s signature events, including the annual Conference, Truth & Reconciliation Summit, and Pride in Equity.

  • Lead the development and implementation of the Braver Spaces Certification Program, ensuring alignment with HEDR’s standards and values.

  • Manage program and event budgets, monitoring expenditures and ensuring financial accountability.

  • Design and implement evaluation strategies to assess the impact of programs and events, providing actionable insights for continuous improvement.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to enhance program content, participation, and overall effectiveness.

  • Support HEDR’s strategic initiatives in thought leadership and equity-focused learning opportunities.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience planning and managing large-scale events or programs, preferably with a focus on learning, equity, or community engagement.

  • Strong project management, organizational, and multitasking skills.

  • Knowledge of program evaluation methods and practices.

  • Financial acumen for budgeting and resource allocation.

  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.

  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-oppression principles.
