About the event

Background: In many small towns, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) can feel like big-city language -- important, yet distant from the realities of close-knit communities where everyone knows everyone.

Objective: In small towns, where relationships and reputation shape everything, DEI can become something far richer -- a living expression of community care and shared purpose. As a result, this talk invites leaders and aspiring change-makers to reimagine DEI as a source of pride, innovation, and connection. It invites participants to see DEI not simply as a political statement or corporate trend, but as a deeply human practice that strengthens community trust, creativity, and resilience.

Agenda:

1. The urban/rural divide

2. Exploring 5 powerful shifts

3. Call to Action
