Advancing Inclusive Recreation: The Journey of the Town of Halton Hills

In this presentation, we will take you through the Town of Halton Hills' journey toward improving inclusive recreation.  We’ll share the key learnings we've gained along the way  and how they intersect with inclusive recreation practices.

The session will outline the various approaches we’ve implemented to create a more inclusive recreation environment, and the collaboration we’ve fostered with community groups to offer a diverse range of recreation programs that cater to individuals of all ages with exceptionalities.

We will focus on the importance of inclusion and accessibility in recreation. By the end of the presentation, attendees will have a deeper understanding of the strategies and experiences that have shaped our current efforts to provide equitable and accessible recreational opportunities for all members of our community.
